Yesterday morning at 4am we left for the lakefront for my annual race of the Chicago Triathlon (the worlds largest triathlon). There were 8,000 competitors this year! I participated in the International distance (1.5K swim/ 40k bike/ 10k run). My wave began a little after 8am. With this race being so soon after my recent illness, many of you voiced a loving concern. I PROMISED that I would come back carefully! And I DID!!!! And as my day progressed I found myself having a NEW APPRECIATION for the sport, and truly took in the entire day like I never had before. I am so thankful for SO MUCH MORE NOW! I finished the race strong, and achieved a personal best--3:10:24 (I shaved 13 minutes off last years time). I'm very happy! Thank you everyone for all of your continued support and love! Jenifer. |
