It has been nearly a week since I finished the New York City Marathon and things are finally beginning to feel normal again. I'm sure you have all heard by now that I sucked up my pride and let Lance finish in front of me. I knew it meant more to him than me, so I just let him have this one.
Quick Facts: Number of starters: 38,368 Number of finishers: 37,840 Number of Alaskan finishers: 33 (that's only 0.08%!!) Number of women finishers: 12,312 My place: 6585 women; 25163 overall My time: 4:42 Lance's Time: 2:59 Male Winner: 2:09:58 Female Winner: 2:25:05 Number of weeks to train: 18 Number of hours to train: 107:40 Number of miles logged: 614.15 Number of times I stopped to pee: zero Number of times I saw others stopping to pee whenever they felt like it: at least 500 (bridges are a favorite!) Number of foreign guys I saw in their tighty whities, rubbing themselves with body glide: 2 Number of times I was inspired on the course: countless Number of times I was annoyed on the course: countless Number of Sponge Bob aid stations: One Strangest things seen on the course: What...you mean besides the public urination and tighty whitey incident?
